Tips & Tricks – The 3 biggest mistakes
Los’ing your own healer/”tunnel visioning”

One of the main problems in the arena is that you focus too much on one aspect and consequently neglect other things – which may result in unnecessary defeat.
A common problem with “Damage Dealers” in particular is that many of them are used to causing the largest possible damage to a target, due to their previous PvE experience.
In PvP, the players that are being targeted will try to go behind a column. The reason for this is that when the “Damage Dealers“ of the other team follow, they consequently run away from their own healers and can die as a result.
For this reason, it is always very important to take care of your own HP and also to pay attention to where your own team mates are positioned. Before risking your own death, you should better let up on the target and focus on a different target, where you can still be healed yourself.

Lack of communication in the arena

Many times when we coach players, it becomes apparent that there is very little communication. It is very helpful and important to communicate as much as possible in the arena.
Examples of useful communication are “used my trinket”, “I’m fearing the pala“, “I’m sheeping the shaman!”, “need help with this warrior” or also a short tactics announcement at the beginning of a match “we start on the warrior, after he used shield wall let’s swap to the druid”.
This can be improved with a lot of match practice (ideally with the same team mates) and by watching tournaments or videos, where you also get the player sounds.

Risky and inefficient tactics

In the arena, you often meet players who have been playing for years. When you are new to the arena or always have played just occasionally, you are at a big disadvantage compared to these players.
When boosting teams, we often notice that other teams use the wrong tactics that do not lead to success: wrong target selection, bad switches and other mistakes.
In order to improve your skills, we would recommend you to ask questions in relevant message boards, to watch videos of good PvP players on www.warcraftmovies.com or to complete personalised coaching sessions held by pros.
